PRESIDENT’s MESSAGE January 2021

President’s Message

Manny Caldera, President

“Happy New Year’s Guild Members…

“What happen? Well let me tell you…

There is a light at the end of the tunnel.  We have been waiting for the vaccine to come to our direction base on age etc.  We are in the IB Group based on our age, which also covers my two sons’.  We’re scheduled sometime in February 2021.

I am looking forward to our New Board Member’s; our 1st. V.P. Terry Simon has taken over from Linda Rasmussen and Linda has taken over as our Secretary for the next two years.  Welcome!!

We will continue to have our Board and Membership Meetings via Zoom until the end of the year or the beginning of next year.  This looks like we will be doing somewhat what we did last year.  I want to introduce an idea to the membership and that is having a Sew-In’s via Zoom, when everybody is chatting as we’re sewing.  Same thing like being at a Retreat, but we do not need to paid or drive 90 miles.  I will put this out to our membership.

We’re going to have presenters for each membership meetings, so Terry is working with Linda to schedule out until May-June.  Remember, each membership will include: Show-N-Tell so be ready.  Please take a picture of your quilt(s) and e-mail them to Terry Simon.  Terry will present the Show-N-Tell for you.  This will be a lot easier during the zoom meeting.

There is a small possibility that we may have a Winter-Retreat in Temecula this December 2021; so, keep your fingers cross… Yes, yes, yes, oh please yes, yes…

Our Guest Speaker on January 27, 2021, 7:00 p.m., will be Catherina Redford (Free-Motion with your domestic sewing machine.  We will start our meeting with Catherina, so be on time connecting to our zoom meeting.  After her presentation, we will present the Budget for the year; review and approve.

Diane Wilson has cancelled the UFO Project for this year; and those who have paid, will received their check(s) back in the mail.
