President’s Message
Manny Caldera, President
“Mentor Night is coming and our First Official Program of the Year…
Yeah! The most excellent part of the year for me is when our members come out and show their talents and skills and how it’s used in quilting. This year we have Bobby Noon, demonstrating how to prepare your quilt for long arm quilting. Donna Owens will present Flange Binding. Manny Caldera will show you how to clean your cutting mat and shaping your rotary blade.
Our 1st. V.P. for Programming, Linda Rasmussen has acquired Pam Hatfield as our presenter for the month of September. This is going to our first official Zoom program since the pandemic started in mid-March. “How exciting…
On July 25, Julia Lau had her Zoom meeting on how to create a shopping bag and there were 25 individuals who attended the class including 12 year old Kingston who is Jackie’s Irwin Granddaughter. Of those 25 Individuals, was no other than Julia’s Mom from Germany; she is doing her part on social-distancing.
I am very sad that we do not have more members joining our zoom meetings. There are issues that are coming for the month of September and October that is going to affect our members and for this reason it will be important for you to attend. What you can do is program your cell phone calendar to remain you about our meeting. Make sure your turn on the alarm feature.
On August 29, 2020, Julia Lau, our Social Media Chair will be having another “Shopping Bag” class for those who were not able to attend this outstanding presentation. Invitations will be going out shortly. Start calling those guild members for those who do not have access to the internet.
I hope that all members are doing well and are in good health, be safe and see you are our Mentors meeting at the end of the month.
