PRESIDENT MESSAGE JANUARY 2022

Hello from your new President.  I am so looking forward to being with many of you in person at our first ever hybrid/live meeting back at our old haunt.  The rules are simple but important and will be enforced.  You will need to enter the building at the front door facing Alice St., no entry allowed at the back door.  You must wear a mask at all times.  You must show proof of vaccination against the COVID virus -or- proof of a negative test within the prior 72 hours.  That test must not be a home test but from an official testing center.  If you cannot comply with these rules, please stay home and come to the meeting via Zoom.  Manny (in our newly created position of Technology Specialist) will be sending the link out ahead of the meeting.  And of course, if you are feeling ill or feverish, you should stay home. But if you can, please come! I so miss seeing you in person!

After that somber beginning, I hope you might like to hear a little about me.  I’ve been quilting for about 40 years having been an avid seamstress, embroiderer, needlepointer, etc. most of my life.  I studied mathematics and worked on computers and have had more than one entrepreneurial ventures including my last one, New Moon Textiles.  I’ve also been an avid volunteer over the years and have served in almost every board position except for secretary.  For a short while it looked as if I would be holding down two jobs for WFQG but thankfully we do have a new volunteer to be treasurer, Cindy Caldera.  Thank you, Cindy!

We are all looking forward to some interesting programs this year and this January meeting will feature our Round Robin and Challenge quilts.  Come see what our members have accomplished.
